Clients will periodically provide us with updated scripts while an active project is underway.
Editing a script is a straightforward process of clicking a few buttons, but it's important to understand when and how a script should be edited.
It is acceptable to edit the opening and closing of a script at any time. You can also edit any questions, as long as the edits do not add, subtract, or alter the responses. However, you should never remove or add an entire question during a live project, as this can cause issues with the billing process. If a client requests the removal or addition of questions during an active project, you should create a new purchase order.
Always consult with a project manager or project director before making any significant script changes. It's also crucial to be mindful of a script's language before and on the day of an election. For example, if a script refers to an election taking place on a specific date, it will need to be updated to include the word "tomorrow" if it's the day before the election. Likewise, if a project is still running on election day, the script will need to be updated to include the word "today." Clients don't always remember to request these types of updates, so it's important for you to stay on top of them.
