Slack Communication Protocol
Slack serves as our primary communication platform for interacting with virtual agents. We systematically share the following information with remote agents:
- Pollie Assignment allocations
- Scripting documentation
- Agent operational status
- Professional development opportunities
- Performance recognition when objectives are achieved
- Dialing project research materials
- Shift commencement and termination notifications
This protocol guide provides comprehensive instructions for effective Slack utilization when managing agent communications.

Upon initial authentication to the Voter Research workspace, you will be directed to the "Slackbot" channel. Navigate to the "#everyone" channel by selecting it from the left navigation panel to access the comprehensive team communication channel.
Prior to shift commencement, publish the daily operational schedule to inform agents of their assignments. All shifts are officially documented in the OpenSimSim scheduling platform. Standard scheduling consists of three two-hour increments (1300-1500, 1500-1700, 1700-1900). Each shift accommodates 5-8 personnel positions. Agents must submit applications for shifts and receive approval before commencing work. In cases of staffing deficiencies, you may authorize unapproved agents to participate at your discretion.
Maintaining active Slack monitoring throughout agent shifts is essential, particularly when project transitions occur or when shift conclusion notifications must be disseminated. Notification preferences are configurable according to operational requirements. Messages received through main or private channels will generate desktop notifications and application indicators. Notification suspension is available via the bell icon in the upper left interface section, with options for temporary deactivation or customization.
Always distribute scripting materials in the communication channel before shift initiation. Script content can be transferred from cOS to Google Docs for seamless distribution. For optimal efficiency, enable the Google Drive integration within Slack by accessing "Apps," searching for "Google Drive," and following the integration protocol. This integration facilitates document management without exiting the Slack environment.
Document Distribution Methods:
Existing Document Integration:
1. Select the plus icon to attach a file2. Under "Add a File from" section, select Google Drive
3. In the dialog box, select the appropriate document (recently accessed documents appear first)
New Document Creation:
1. Select the plus icon to attach a file
2. Under "New" section, select Google Docs File - Document
3. Enter an appropriate document title (e.g., "Pollie 5")
4. Enable the "share with everyone" option
5. Select "create" to generate a new Google Document
6. Insert required content via copy/paste or direct entry
7. The document is automatically published to the Slack channel for immediate agent access
To direct communication to specific personnel, utilize the @(agentname) notation within messages to generate targeted notifications. For confidential communications, initiate private messaging by entering the agent's name in the workspace search field.
Maintain professional communication standards during all interactions. Acknowledge agent achievements when they report completions, particularly for patches and survey calls. Note that an automated response has been configured to generate standardized recognition messages when agents report "Patch" or "CP" completions.
