      Creating URL Shorteners For Texting Projects

      1. Go to https://hootsuite.com/pages/owly and sign in. Click on the "DASHBOARD" button.

      2. If you haven't created an ow.ly account yet, you can do so for free here.

      3. On the right-hand side, locate the "NEW POST" section. Click on the dropdown arrow and select "Open Legacy Composer."

      4. Copy and paste the long link provided by the client into the shortener box, then press "Enter" to create a shortened link.

      5. You can create multiple shortened links that all redirect to the same web address. To do this, simply press "Enter" to go to a new line, paste the long URL, and press "Enter" again.

      6. Creating multiple shortened links can be helpful for large texting projects.

      7. Copy all of the shortened links you've created and paste them into a separate document.

      8. Be mindful of carrier violations when using the shortened links. If you notice a large number of violations, you'll need to update the URL in the script in cOS.

      9. When using multiple links in a text project, keep track of which ones you've already used and delete them from your list after they've been utilized.

      10. When updating the script in cOS, only change the "OPENING" portion. There's no need to update the "QUESTIONS" section.
