Voter ID:
The primary purpose of a voter ID project is to gather voter opinions and preferences. Any initiative that involves asking questions and recording responses can be considered a voter ID. Common questions may include who the voter supports in an election or their stance on a particular piece of legislation. These projects can range from a single-question survey to a more extensive 60-question poll.
GOTV (Get Out The Vote):
GOTV projects are designed to increase voter turnout during an election. The scripts for these initiatives typically include a reminder of the upcoming election date, voting hours, and polling location. Importantly, GOTV projects do not capture any voter responses - the call is completed once the informational message has been delivered.
GOTV Plan A:
Similar to standard GOTV efforts, a GOTV Plan A project aims to boost voter turnout. However, it goes one step further by also asking follow-up questions. These may include inquiring about the voter's planned voting time, need for transportation, or knowledge of their nearest polling site. The goal is to help the voter plan and prepare for casting their ballot.
Patch Projects:
Patch projects connect local constituents directly with the office of a targeted individual or organization. The purpose is to allow voters to voice support or opposition for a particular agenda or issue.
Robocalls:
A robocall is a pre-recorded, automated phone message. By law, robocalls can only be placed to landline numbers, unless the recipient has opted-in to receive such automated messages on their cell phone.
IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Robocalls:
IVR robocalls utilize technology that allows a computer system to interact with voters through voice and keypad input. These initiatives can capture specific voter data through the use of pre-recorded messages and response options.
SMS/MMS Texting:
SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) projects involve sending unique text messages to individual phone numbers. This allows for large-scale outreach and information-sharing with target audiences.
Emails:
Email projects enable users to contact and manage large lists of email addresses. Custom email templates can be created and sent at scale to effectively reach and communicate with desired recipients.
