Version 5.0.24

The new Response Options Picker feature in COS makes it easier to access and use the platform's advanced capabilities. Some key improvements include:

  • Activist Code Tagging (VAN sync only): Users can now tag any response to an activist code in VAN.

  • Response Followup: This new feature allows volunteers to read a pre-written response when a specific selection is chosen. This keeps the response separate from the script question, streamlining the workflow.

  • Transfer: Users can enter a transfer phone number or data field to set up a response that will transfer the call to an external number. The volunteer can then press a call termination button and receive a new call, while the original parties remain connected.

  • Send SMS: Volunteers can now instantly send a text message to the person they are speaking with. A pop-up box allows them to enter the SMS project ID and the message they want to send. This enables continued text conversations in a separate COS SMS project, with texting volunteers responding in real-time.

You can choose an alternate closing script for your project. For example, you could have one closing script for supporters and a different alternate closing script for non-supporters. Additionally, you can assign separate termination buttons for the primary Closing and the Closing Alt options. This ensures that the correct termination code is used, without requiring your volunteer agents to decide which button to select.

These new alternate closing features, along with nineteen other enhancements and improvements, have been incorporated into the latest 5.0.24 release. Some of the other key updates in this release include:

  • Fixed an issue with SMS agent substitution in the display
  • Allowed the use of general SMS projects, not just those linked from a call
  • Cleaned up the response option picker (new option picker should be used going forward for live calls)
  • Added response followup fixes for issue #531 (assigned via option picker, no edit yet - must delete and re-add, edit will come after the new UI)
  • Removed some unused endpoints
  • Added alternate closing fixes for issue #530 (please re-save templates options for these new alternates)
  • Added a smart default option for goto when adding a response (Next / Close)
  • Added code to clear non-callable numbers from the dialer on center upload, fixing issue #532 (Hunter, please verify this on your first QA upload)
  • Changed the datetime format on reports from d:h:m:s to h:m:s, fixing issue #526
  • Added a total to the project summary calls, fixing issue #528
  • Added hide/show inactive on pages, fixing issue #457
