Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional security measure that verifies a user's identity when logging into an online account.
COS offers 2FA across all user access levels upon request. If 2FA is not enabled across the entire server, it can still be utilized on an individual user basis.
To set up 2FA for your COS account:
1. Navigate to your server's URL and log in to COS.
2. Download a third-party software authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy) on your mobile device.
3. Click the "Account Name" dropdown and select "Change Password."
4. In the "Reset 2-Factor Authentication Code" field, enter your account password.
5. Click "Reset." This will generate a COS QR code.
6. Scan the COS QR code with your authenticator app. This will link the app to your COS account.
7. Enter the 6-digit "2FA Code" generated by the app and click "Login."
This process ensures that even if your password is compromised, an additional verification step (the 2FA code) is required to access your COS account, providing an extra layer of security.
